Risen On Fire – Day 1/?

It’s going to take some effort but…

Welcome to my blog. There’s so much I have to say and it’s a little difficult to know exactly where to start. I’ve been consuming self-improvement content for years on end, and I’ve started various attempts at projects over the years but never really had the constitution to follow the projects through with any conviction. Today is the day that I have decided to really begin the project that I am certain will bring me not only fulfilment, but also financial freedom.

There are a few things that I’d like to achieve here and I’ll just list them below:

  • Consistent Weekly Blogging Schedule
  • Digital Product Library designed to help others achieve self actualisation
  • Nurture a loyal audience by providing the most value that I can about subjects that interest me (crypto, self improvement, digital marketing, health/fitness/mental health and whatever else springs to mind)
  • Learn as much as I can about everything involved with maintaining a content-driven business and share that information with my audience.

So why did I take action now, at the ripe age of 34?

Well, that’s a little hard to answer without revealing embarrassing truths about myself, but here’s what I can reveal so far;

I’m currently employed full time at a car rental company and I have been there since July 2022. It’s the best job I’ve had as far as conditions, pay and team members around me. Whilst I’m happy with my job in terms of providing me a stable income and opportunity to save a little bit of money, it will not pay me enough to meet my goals of financial freedom as fast as possible and I’m not looking to climb the corporate ladder. At the end of the day, my job is exhausting and draining, as I speak to people for a living, answering up to a hundred and fifty phone calls a day. It’s repetitive stuff and though I find satisfaction in assisting people to book them their car for their needs, whether that’s a holiday, business trip or funeral, I find that I don’t leave the office feeling like I’ve achieved anything of value towards my goals.

I’ve been doing phone-based customer service for the past 7-8 years and I’ve told myself that this job I’m working now will be the last job that I ever have as one of my main goals is to achieve financial independence and then financial freedom. I don’t want to do any sort of education or course that will lead me towards another 9-5 soul crushing pit of doom. I need to do something that nurtures my soul and helps me to assist many others in the actualisation of themselves. It’s been far too long that I’ve been living the same day/week/month over and over again, working my job during the day and then coming home to get stoned, play video games and, excuse my candid admission, jerk off, only to lose track of where I intend to be and basically live out a groundhog day, edge of tomorrow style life where everything blends into the same experience, repeated ad infinitum. By the time I’m 40 I want to be completely changed and unrecognisable from my current self. That leaves me six years of consistent effort to get there, and I’m sure I can achieve that goal faster than six years but I’m just allowing myself some breathing room to let the consistency and effort reap its rewards.

I guess this is the start of my personal brand in earnest. I think there are advantages to taking this path and I take example from leaders like Dan Koe, Clark Kegley, Alex Hormozi, Andrew Kirby, Ben Bader, Adonis Bjornson and others who have thriving content-based businesses. The next few steps I’m going to take will involve engaging with a mentor, I’ve got a couple in mind but I’m not going to name drop them yet, I’ll share what I’ve gained as it comes along. After the mentor comes the business, and that’s going to be based heavily on information and digital content and products and the platforms that I’m going to focus on for the most part will be this website, YouTube and Instagram (follow me if you haven’t already). I’ll be aiming to learn as much as I can over the next few years and regurgitating that information in an easy to consume format utilising social media, blog posts and video content hosted on YouTube and Instagram.

Basically, as I evolve, I’m going to leave breadcrumbs along the way for any other inspired seekers no matter who they are, how old they are, how they vote, what god they believe in. The type of people I want to connect with are those who have an earnest intellectual passion in improvement, compassion and giving back to others. I have a number of beliefs that I’m ready to have challenged, and my main goal is to evolve, as I’ve been coasting through life for the past few years after getting out of hospital for my third or fourth psychosis. One thing about me is that I suffer from Bipolar disorder which, in a nutshell, when unmedicated or unhealthy leads me to periods of extreme mania and psychosis but also periods of heavy depression where I don’t even feel like I can get up and face the day’s challenges.

I’ve learnt to deal with this and I’m stable with my current medication regime, but the habit of smoking weed daily is incredibly dangerous without the medication and could easily lead me back to my next psychosis. I think that it’s not a question of if, but when, I will have my next psychosis. As it tends to come with a 1-4 month hospitalisation and then a 1-4 year recovery, I’m dreading the next time it comes around and I don’t want to be in a position where I lose my job, have no income, no stability and find myself struggling to make ends meet again. I’m so very afraid of this outcome that I’m all in on this next stage of growth with a digital content/marketing/product business and I can’t wait to see the outcome of consistent actions with a solid plan in place to get there.

To wrap this up, I just want to say that I believe in my potential, I believe in your potential, and I believe in humanity’s potential to achieve incredible things and I can’t wait to bring you interesting and well curated information that challenges your beliefs, expands your knowledge and leaves you feeling better than you did before you consumed it.

Follow me on instagram @risen, as of now and for the foreseeable future, my DM’s are open to anyone who needs my help, but I do warn you that my long term goal is to engage with a small circle of like-minded folk to accelerate our life progress and then eventually ride off into the sunset once the financial independence/freedom goal is achieved to allow room for the next person to fill my shoes. I estimate that it could take 5-15 years to achieve what I want, so I’m around for a long time, but I’m painfully aware that this sort of thing has limits and drawbacks that I anticipate wanting to extricate myself from.

Here’s to our freedom and I’ll see you all in the next post.
